But I certainly would given half a chance.''With every book, I grow more fond of Libby and Exham; this time it already felt like coming home.''If you like Miss Marple this amateur sleuth will enthral you.'Book Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Review :
This book/novella, and the series thus far, would be ever so much better if disconcerting little glitches in chronology and other small mistakes were weeded out before the books were made available to readers. In this book, for instance, the protagonist is informed of an unfortunate accident, but begins referring to it as murder while still only having been told it had been an accident. It isn't until several pages after she's already been referring to an accident as murder, however, that she actually becomes privy to the crucial details that indicated it was a murder. In another book in the series, the protagonist is surprised when she discovers some information about property in an envelope partly sticking out from a closed drawer in a bedroom chest, and she's very surprised. Sometime much later, however, she's surprised by its existence again, and then later still also claims that she never knew anything about the property until Max had told her about it.The inclusion of a dog is nice, probably meant to be amusing, and as a single or infrequently used device could be. It starts to get "old" that Libby supposedly loves the dog she minds for her friend, yet for most of the time she cares for it complains about it and cannot wait to be rid of it, and that she can't control the dog at all, but takes the dog to all kinds of places, always blaming the dog for its uncontrolled behavior. Repetitive humor devices, and for that matter, relationship, romantic, and personality quirks, are best in small doses and used sparingly, or they can become a bit annoying. This book, and the previous books in the series, get all the big things right that make for a good story and a good cozy mystery, so they are a worthwhile read as they are. A little tidying up, though, would raise them to quite another level. Dr. Giles Temple (PhD) the Wells Cathedral librarian had to make sure all the 18th century were locked up & accounted for. They were very rare/valuable.Crime Scene Do Not Enter tape was everywhere around the library.Dr. Phillips the head librarian was lying on the floor face up.Giles had been murdered.Exham. Mrs. Libby Forest (widow, landlady), brought Angela Miles (Libby’s BFF), back to the cottage she shared with Mandy (apprentice, lodger, panic attacks) & Fuzzy (marmalade cat).As usual Bear (sheepdog) was guarding the door.Mandy wanted to open a PI business with Max Ramshore (father, government secret financial branch). She also had the hots for him.Libby was headed to the Knitters Guild (Scarves, hats, gloves) meeting.June, Angela, Ruby, Vera, were in attendance also.Mrs. Forest (amateur sleuth) showed up also.Rumor has it Giles (history lecturer) had been seeing Mrs. Imogen Weir (Dean’s wife, history lecturer).Chief Inspector Arnold showed up also.DS Filbert-Smythe went to interview Dean & Mrs. Weir. Why was Samantha Watson (solicitor) killed?DS Filbert-Smythe was assigned to the murder case.Mrs. Marchant’s (mother) cat was missing. Libby put up posters everywhere. Will the murders be solved & someone brought to justice?I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written cozy mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great who-dunnit murder mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.Thank you for the free author; Justkindlebooks; Ainsley Associates; Amazon Digital Services LLC.; bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn) Read Online Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Download Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) PDF Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Mobi Free Reading Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Download Free Pdf Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) PDF Online Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Mobi Online Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Reading Online Murder at the Cathedral (The Exham-on-Sea Murder Mysteries Book 4) Read Online Frances Evesham Download Frances Evesham Frances Evesham PDF Frances Evesham Mobi Free Reading Frances Evesham Download Free Pdf Frances Evesham PDF Online Frances Evesham Mobi Online Frances Evesham Reading Online Frances EveshamDownload Mobi Knitting Pearls: Writers Writing About Knitting By Ann Hood
